Bridgetown Natural Foods is Hiring a Warehouse Manager Near Mt Juliet, TN

Job Summary: The individual in this position is responsible for managing all aspects of a fast-paced and complex warehouse operation in a high-growth food manufacturing environment. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for all aspects of inventory management, shipping and receiving, warehouse security, food security, safety and regulatory compliance, and facility waste management.

Essential Functions:

  • Promote and champion safety, safety programs, and accountabilities. Must lead by example.
  • Actively engages in the Bridgetown Performance System team to promote safety and continuous improvement. 
  • Strong leadership capabilities to coach and develop a World Class warehouse team and processes
  • Lead and organize all inbound raw ingredients, packaging and other materials; storage of raw materials, packaging and finished goods; and outbound transportation of finished goods
  • Recognize and respond to opportunities to increase efficiencies in inbound and outbound operations
  • Organize and maintain the warehouse with the use of signage to identify specific locations of raw materials, packaging and finished goods
  • Train and instruct warehouse staff on the proper handling of materials to ensure the proper storage of raw materials, packaging and finished goods
  • Own inventory accuracy, understand difference reports and set goals for inventory reporting and improvements
  • Responsible for receiving, shipping, BOL creation and direct invoicing
  • Properly train warehouse staff on the process and implementation of FEFO/FIFO inventory management and ensure this process is being followed 
  • Ensure warehouse operation is in compliance with FDA guidelines, OSHA requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP and SQF guidelines, USDA and Homeland Security guidelines
  • Partner with all other departments to facilitate the efficient operation of the production floor while providing excellent customer service; ensure that the proper ingredients are prepared and delivered to the line on time according to specifications
  • Ensure all staff endorses a safety mindset and culture, complying with all safety practices, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment and optimizing space
  • Maintain a significant and noticeable floor presence to drive overall warehouse housekeeping and material organization daily
  • Maintain warehouse yard and surrounding areas
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels, ensuring that activities are performed effectively, and to respond to fluctuating workloads
  • Responsible for managing assigned departmental budget line items and annual budget planning
  • Responsible for development of warehouse employees to ensure proper execution of logistical activities in assigned areas according to targeted specifications to achieve total warehouse quality
  • Responsible for safe and efficient operation of forklifts in warehouse and on production floor 
  • Ensure that all forklift training for warehouse team is in compliance with OSHA guidelines and regulations
  • Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety issues
  • Ensure adherence to all standard work processes, SOPs 
  • Cross-train warehouse staff to increase knowledge across all warehouse functions to ensure each position has adequate back-up
  • Report warehouse damage, including inbound internally caused and outbound finished goods damage 
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement agreed-upon plans
  • Document and escalate supplier non-conformance issues 
  • Scorecard supplier and transportation service

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired 
  • Minimum of 5 years of warehouse and inventory management experience; food manufacturing or consumables warehousing experience preferred
  • Minimum of three years of transportation management experience, in-bound and out-bound
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex warehouse environment
  • Experience with physical inventory management and cycle count process
  • Thorough understanding of FEFO/FIFO inventory management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites – Word, Excel, PowerPoint 
  • Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership in ensuring safe work standards 
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop people
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Ability to understand and communicate work instructions in English
  • Forklift certified or ability to become forklift certified

Work Conditions/Physical Factors:

  • Must be flexible to address warehouse and transportation issues, at nights, on weekends, and some holidays
  • Must be able to lift, up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 450 pounds on occasional basis
  • Must be able to ascend/descend building stairways and ramps to reach job assignments and perform job task
  • Position requires frequent sitting, standing, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, bending and twisting
  • Warehouse and bakery environment can cause exposure to extreme heat and cold, depending on the season
